Why I Chose to Upgrade to the Sony A9 III

For the past few years, I’ve carried my Sony A7C II through just about everything—airsoft events, abandoned factories, furry conventions, and more. It’s light, reliable, and discreet. But recently, I found myself needing more. More speed. More precision. More power in fast-paced environments where “you missed it” isn’t an option.

That’s when the Sony A9 III came into my life.

A Camera Built for Speed — and Chaos

I photograph high-intensity moments where everything happens fast and unpredictably. Whether I’m ducking behind a plywood wall in the middle of an airsoft firefight or trying to freeze a fursuiter mid-spin in low lighting, I need autofocus that doesn’t second-guess itself—and a shutter that doesn’t hold me back.

The A9 III’s global shutter was a game-changer. No more rolling shutter distortion. No more flickering under sketchy indoor lighting. Just clean, reliable frames at up to 120 fps. It’s like having a slow-motion button for stills.

The A7C II Still Has a Place

Don’t get me wrong—I still love the A7C II. It’s compact, quiet, and perfect for urban exploring when I need to stay low-key or travel light. It lives in my bag for those moments where weight matters more than speed.

But when I need to lead with my gear—when I’m on the field capturing high-adrenaline action or need the absolute best hit rate during a key moment—the A9 III is the new alpha.

Why This Matters for My Clients

This upgrade isn’t just about gear. It’s about raising the bar for what I deliver.

  • Your airsoft event now gets frame-perfect shots of the exact second the action peaks.
  • Your convention gets beautifully clean portraits even in rough lighting.
  • Your brand gets content shot on a camera designed for elite performance.

I’m not just chasing better gear—I’m chasing better stories, better moments, and better delivery.

Ready for the Next Frame

This upgrade marks a new chapter in my work. If you’re a field, host, or organizer looking for someone who can keep up with the pace of your world and make it look incredible—let’s talk.
